What makes a house a home?

Moose Jaw Co-op and SaskWater are thrilled to announce the second annual, “Project Shine: Strengthen, Unite, Nurture”, campaign aimed at supporting our local community.

As a company deeply committed to fostering a strong and caring community, Moose Jaw Co-op is excited to invite you to join us in making a positive impact in May as we support Project Shine’s second initiative, a month-long till campaign to support the Moose Jaw Transition House. Throughout the entire month of May, when you shop at Moose Jaw Co-op Food Store, you will have the opportunity to make a difference simply by making a $2 donation at the till.

With your help, last year’s campaign to support the Weekend Lunch Program operated out of St. Aidan Church raised over $7,800. This year, Moose Jaw Co-op and SaskWater will once again each provide matching contributions up to $2,500 to help fund renovations at the Moose Jaw Transition House shelter.

The Moose Jaw Transition House provides emergency shelter, support, programming, advocacy and referrals as they work towards ending the cycle of abuse and violence within the Moose Jaw and District Community. The main floor of the shelter is in need of some renovations. The flooring is outdated and wearing out, the furnaces needs to be improved to better distribute heat throughout the building, electrical needs updating along with several other projects.

“The difference is not just in the paint, flooring and furnishings but in the profound impact it has on the lives of survivors,” said Jennifer Angus, Executive Director of the Moose Jaw Transition House. “A safe and inviting home is a fundamental part of the care we provide. Our goal is to create a space that radiates safety, warmth and comfort for women journeying toward healing and better health, building a space where survivors can find solace, strength, and the support they deserve.”

We are extremely pleased to partner with SaskWater on Project Shine to help support the Moose Jaw Transition House. We invite all our valued members and customers to join us in this effort and help us make a difference in our community. It's heartwarming to see our community come together to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

We will proudly display the names of our valued customers who donate to Project Shine with a special recognition symbol in our Food Store. We want to acknowledge your compassion and inspire others to join this initiative.

So, mark your calendars! Let's come together and show our support for Project Shine and the Moose Jaw Transition House. Together, we can make their house a home!

Thank you for being a part of our Moose Jaw Co-op family and for your unwavering commitment to building a stronger, more caring community.
