Moose Jaw Co-op is seeking a full-time Agronomist at our Prairie Plains location in Moose Jaw, SK.

What you will do:
As an Agronomist with the Moose Jaw Co-op, you will be responsible for providing superior agronomic support, service, and knowledge to our agriculture customers and members. You will perform farm customer service responsibilities, including field scouting, agronomic troubleshooting, crop planning, fertility, and crop protection recommendations. You will be responsible for continually striving to expand your customer base, participating in frequent and ongoing communication with customers, and maintaining successful relationships with all customers and business partners. We are looking for a leader that understands the needs of the agricultural crop producer and who will support our members and communities by putting people first in the delivery of value and excellence!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Providing support, services, and knowledge of agronomic products to Moose Jaw Co-op customers.
• Providing agronomic information and advice on seed, pest identification and crop protection, and crop nutrient/fertilizer.
• Manage farm customer service responsibilities including field scouting, agronomic troubleshooting, crop planning, fertility and crop protection recommendations.
• Execute operational support services. Lead field tours, informational meetings, trials, communications plans, etc.
• Develop relationships and have direct and regular contact with internal and external customers, contractors and suppliers on increasingly complex queries, issues and transactions.
• Ensures a prompt, efficient, and friendly customer experience for both internal and external customers is provided at all times.
• Required to maintain the confidentiality required of the position and demonstrate high morals and business ethics.
• Required to demonstrate a willingness to support and devote attention to business needs outside of regularly scheduled hours if necessary.

Qualifications include:
• Relevant post-secondary education in agriculture, with current membership in good standing as an articling or practicing member (CCA, SIA, etc.)
• 3-5 years of experience providing agronomic services to Western Canadian producers
• Superior customer service skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers and business partners
• Strong skills in agricultural account management and decision making
• Demonstrable experience in crop rotation and IPM planning
• Sound knowledge of industry best practice and new technology developments
• Superior time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately
• Able to balance time consistently between on-site presence and travel in the trade area
